In a landmark move, the Department of Justice, in 2014, unveiled an initiative urging eligible federal inmates to request sentence commutations from President Obama. This initiative was tailored for nonviolent offenders who, if tried today, would likely face significantly milder sentences.
Through this groundbreaking effort, 1,715 individuals saw their sentences commuted. Among those championing this cause was Annee Della Donna and Innocence OC, successfully securing clemency for deserving individuals. Join us as we continue to rewrite stories and champion justice.
